Weights are theoretical, calculated with a density of 8 kg/dm³ (weight = thickness × width × length × 8). Actual weight may vary within tolerances. For stock availability and price – send an inquiry.
Stainless steel sheet price
The price depends on the grade (AISI 304, 316L, 430), thickness, finish and quantity.
Send us the thickness, sheet size and quantity – you get a quote the same day.
Which stainless steel sheet finish should you choose?
The finish determines how the surface looks, how visible fingerprints and scratches are, and how easy the sheet is to maintain. The same stainless steel grade can look completely different depending on the finish, so choose the finish based on whether the sheet will be visible and where it will be used.
| Finish | Surface appearance | Advantages | Typical applications | Grades (AISI) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cold-rolled 2B | Smooth, semi-gloss, greyish | The most common and cost-effective finish, easy to clean, a good base for further processing | Industrial and food processing equipment, tanks, parts for further processing | 430, 304, 304L, 316L, 316Ti, 441 |
| Cold-rolled BA/2R | High gloss, almost mirror-like | Reflective, very smooth surface without extra polishing | Decorative cladding, household appliances, lighting, trims | 430, 304, 304L, 441 |
| Brushed | Satin, with lines in one direction | Hides fingerprints and small scratches well | Kitchens, catering equipment, elevators, furniture, facades | 430, 304, 304L, 316L, 316Ti, 441 |
| Circular ground | Circular pattern that shimmers in the light | Uniform look from every angle, scratches are hardly visible | Doors, elevator cabins, kitchen walls, signage, interiors | 430, 304, 304L, 316L, 316Ti, 441 |
| Hot-rolled 1D | Matte, rough, grey | Cost-effective for thicker gauges when appearance is not critical | Load-bearing structures, industrial equipment, tanks, parts for machining | 430, 304, 304L, 316L, 316Ti |
| Checker plate | Embossed, anti-slip | Secure footing and wear resistance | Stair treads, ramps, floors in the food industry, vehicles | 304, 304L |
| Decorative | Embossed or patterned designs | Striking look, hides signs of use | Interiors, elevators, facades, hospitality venues | 304, 304L |
Quick finish guide
- The sheet is not visible or will be processed further → 2B for thinner sheets, 1D for thicker
- Visible surface that is touched often → brushed or circular ground
- Maximum gloss needed → BA/2R
- Surface you walk on → checker plate
- Design and interiors → decorative or circular ground
If you need a finish that is not currently in stock, we grind sheets in our own workshop – see linear grinding of sheets and circular grinding.
Which stainless steel grade should you choose?
The choice of stainless steel grade depends on the environment the sheet will work in, whether it will be welded, and on your budget. All grades we offer are stainless steel, but they differ in chemical composition – above all in their chromium, nickel and molybdenum content – and therefore in corrosion resistance and price.
| Grade (AISI) | EN designation | Steel type | Magnetic | Corrosion resistance | Typical applications |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 430 | 1.4016 | Ferritic, about 16–18% chromium, no nickel | Yes | Basic – for dry, indoor spaces | Interiors, household appliances, cladding, decorative elements |
| 441 | 1.4509 | Ferritic, stabilised with titanium and niobium | Yes | Good – better than 430 | Household appliances, exhaust and flue systems, heat-exposed parts |
| 304 | 1.4301 | Austenitic, 18% chromium and 8% nickel | No* | Very good | Food industry, professional kitchens, tanks, architecture, general purpose |
| 304L | 1.4307 | Austenitic, low carbon | No* | Very good, also after welding | Welded structures, vessels, pipelines, thicker sheets |
| 316L | 1.4404 | Austenitic, with 2–2.5% molybdenum | No* | Excellent – resistant to salt and chlorides | Coastal areas, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, meat and fish processing, outdoor structures |
| 316Ti | 1.4571 | Austenitic, with molybdenum, stabilised with titanium | No* | Excellent, also at elevated temperatures | Chimney systems, heat exchangers, equipment operating at higher temperatures |
Quick grade guide
- Indoor, dry space, no welding, price matters → AISI 430
- General use, food contact, kitchens → AISI 304
- Welded structures and thicker sheets → AISI 304L
- Salt, chlorine, coastal areas or chemicals → AISI 316L
- Elevated temperatures, chimneys and exhaust systems → AISI 316Ti or 441

Frequently asked questions about stainless steel sheets
How is the weight of a stainless sheet calculated?
weight (kg) = thickness (mm) × width (m) × length (m) × 8. Example: a 2 × 1000 × 2000 mm sheet weighs 2 × 1 × 2 × 8 = 32 kg. One square metre of stainless sheet weighs 8 kg per millimetre of thickness.
How much does a 1 mm stainless steel sheet weigh?
A 1 mm stainless sheet weighs 8 kg/m². A 1000 × 2000 mm sheet weighs 16 kg, 1250 × 2500 mm weighs 25 kg and 1500 × 3000 mm weighs 36 kg.
What are the standard stainless sheet sizes?
The most common sizes are 1000 × 2000, 1250 × 2500 and 1500 × 3000 mm. For thicker sheets we also offer 1500 × 6000, 2000 × 4000 and 2000 × 6000 mm. We can also cut sheets to size.
Which stainless steel sheet thicknesses do you have?
From 0.3 mm to 80 mm. The most requested thicknesses are 0.5 · 0.8 · 1 · 1.5 · 2 · 3 · 4 and 5 mm. All thicknesses with weights per sheet size are in the table on this page.
What is the price of stainless steel sheet?
The price depends on the grade (AISI 304, 316L, 430), thickness, finish and quantity. Send us the thickness, sheet size and quantity through the contact form or to office@mgming.rs – you get a quote the same day.
Do you deliver outside Serbia?
Yes. From our warehouse in Šimanovci (near Belgrade) we deliver daily to Belgrade, Novi Sad and all of Serbia, and we also export to countries in the region.
